Our darling boy. Oh my goodness where do I even start?
Rolf came into our lives at a time when we needed desperately to heal our hearts, refocus our energy and create a new dynamic in our home. He certainly understood the assignment and spent every day of his 14 years fulfilling that brief. Wilful, loving and so much fun he made us laugh every single day. There wasn’t a mean bone in his body and even dogs whose owners said weren’t good around others seemed at ease with him, often prompting surprised comment.
A degenerative eye condition meant Rolf had his eyes removed aged 11 but even this challenge didn’t dampen his spirit and confidence. He made new friends wherever he went and treated each new experience as a glorious adventure.
We miss you so much Rolf. Named after the piano playing muppet you were our muppet everyday, a brighter star there has never been.
We knew the time was coming to say goodbye and as Rolf was our first ever pet we were nervous of how to proceed. Mark and Shelley took such good care of us all. It was honestly a privilege to witness the end of a life handled with such love and sensitivity. A beautiful farewell to a beloved family member for which we are incredibly grateful.
With deepest thanks
Louise, Chris, Jake, Robert and Adam
