Bella came to live with us nearly 12 years ago when she was 2 or 3 years old. Coming from Three Counties Dog Rescue, we had limited information about Bella’s life prior to us knowing her. That never bothered us, and she very quickly became part of our family. As our first dog, she taught us so much and went through so many life experiences with us. With Bella we discovered all the walks around our village and beyond, and she gave us so much happiness and joy. On every holiday she came with us, and explored everything she could. Bella loved a castle ruin, and would climb and investigate absolutely everything. Always with a ball in her mouth, Bella loved to chase a well thrown ball. Somehow, they also seemed to end up under the tv cabinet, or the sideboard which a human then needed to find. Our home is empty without her, she was always by our sides and a constant companion. Without her our hearts are broken, but we are so grateful for all the wonderful memories.
We found out at the start of December that Bella had developed lung cancer. It was found by accident during investigations for suspected laryngeal paralysis. It was a shock, as Bella was acting like her usual self. Knowing the prognosis, we made the decision to contact Mark and the team. We knew that the hardest decision you have to make would need to be made at some point soon. We also knew that Bella would want to be at home with her family around her. Shelley explained everything to us, and helped us get everything in place. We had an amazing Christmas with Bella, she ate her own special lunch, and was still playing with her ball even the day before things changed. On the 28th December 2024 we knew that Bella needed us to make that decision. We contacted Mark, and he guided us through. We can’t thank you enough for everything you did on that day. Thanks to you, Bella could stay at home and her passing was incredibly peaceful, surrounded by her family. We will be forever grateful to you all, and the team at Lakeview Pet Crematorium.
