Fiona

My dearest Fi Fi aka Princess Fiona, you and I both helped each other through some very tough times in 2014 . You had been mistreated and I was recovering from cancer. You were the tonic I needed, the light in our lives and although you were only meant to be a 2-week convalescence, you stayed another 8 wonderful years. Through that time you became patient 31 of Marks and he helped you fight cancer and all sorts of skin infections and kept you in tip top health. Until reaching the grand old age of 17 in September, it was just that step too far and we couldn't keep that beautiful heart of yours strong for much longer, sadly I soon realised we had to say the toughest of goodbyes to you. We called during the night to come and help you through the struggle into the calm and peaceful place where we knew we had to let you go.

Your quiet gentle snoring slowed and came to an end whilst you were snuggled up in your blanket with your favourite toy and me sobbing by your side, it was the best thing I could do for you after all the fun adventures you have given me, Conor and Jimi your little rascal pup, but it was one of the hardest things ever.

We sobbed so hard I'm sure you could hear us as you legged it across the rainbow bridge for some peace and to find my Mum and a deer leg or 2!

Mark was so amazing and explained it all to Conor so he was as prepared as he could be and helped us say our final goodbyes. The pawprint, card and ashes were brought back in no time and she is with us still making us smile when we look at the dozens of pictures, we have around the house. Thank you so much for making our goodbyes so perfect and helping me to make the right choice at the right time, she really was one in a million, as are you all at Mark the Home Vet. Milo

Dear Mark,

Many thanks for bringing Milo’s ashes back yesterday and for the sympathy card, which was a lovely gesture.

We really do appreciate the wonderful care and support that you provided for Milo and for all of us recently. Milo had been a central member of our family for the last 16 years; we all loved him to bits, so his passing was inevitably an emotional time for us. In fact, much more so than I had imagined. We felt particularly fortunate to have found you to help him and us through this difficult time. The fact that he passed away in his own basket, in his own house and surrounded by his loved ones made for a very peaceful and fitting end to a long and happy life. Your kindness, dedication, professionalism, time and sound advice through that whole process were enormously appreciated.

Thank you again for all your support; we will be sure to recommend you to all of our pet owning friends and, who knows, we may yet have another dog for you to look after one day!

Best wishes,

Lotti

Sometimes we have to say a goodbye to our beloved pets. Last week Mark had to visit Lotti so that her family could say their final goodbye to her in the peace of their own home rather than in a stressful veterinary clinic.

This week we received the following message from Lotti's family:

'I cannot thank you enough Mark, for your kindness, patience and compassion every time you visited but particularly on the evening we said goodbye to Lotti, I will never forget how you tried so hard to make such a difficult time a little easier for Lotti and us, you really are a one in a million vet.'

Mark came to see Meg my Border terrier at home tonight.
I was really pleased with the service provided. Mark took time to explain all the options around vaccinations for different diseases, including the titer test, to see whether she has sufficient immunity already for some of the diseases.
His manner was relaxed and professional and he was great with Meg who can be nervous.
Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

Many thanks Rebecca for the recent Bowen treatment on Sally (16yr old Springer Spaniel); she is so much more comfortable and stable on her legs.
Bowen technique has taught ME to look and learn from Sally what her needs are.
It took you to come along and interpret her for me. Her zest for life has never diminished: you have now helped her with the quality of life.
True animal lovers, want the best and kindest thing for our pets; Bowen has helped to give us both a better understanding. Once again many thanks for your gentle handling and application of your profession. All the best, Stella & Sally Who says "Woof,Woof".xxxx

The care and compassion from Mark was obvious from the moment he came to visit our very nervous cat Jasper and dog Archie. What a fantastic service and so beautifully executed, taking the time to listen and answer our questions and explaining everything to us. Much less stressful for us all than a trip to a vet practice and even Jasper had forgotten all about it after a few hours. Wonderful! I will be recommending to everyone I can!

Rebecca came to my house today to clip my cats claws. A procedure he normally hates with other vets! Rebecca treated him with compassion and really took the time to reasure him. This level of care really made the difference today. I will book again.

Mark came to our home. Immediately the dogs were more relaxed and looked on him as a playmate (and they hate the vets).
Mark took his time and explained the process very carefully. He spent time talking about the things we wanted to hear and bow we could actively help our dogs.
Seriously looking at a permanent move and we thought we were happy with our current vet.
What a great idea and great service
